It’s amazing to be part of a team that’s big on equality. I feel at home.
Playing for the Wasps means the world to me, especially because it’s a club that values equality so deeply. As someone who identifies as bisexual, my experience at other rugby clubs after coming out was far from welcoming; I felt out of place and eventually gave up playing altogether. Fast forward to 2023, I took a chance with the Wasps after a short trial in 2021, and I couldn’t be happier.
The team atmosphere is incredibly inclusive; everyone is friendly, supportive, and we all learn and grow together. We come from diverse backgrounds and have varying levels of rugby experience, which makes our unity even more special. I had played rugby for four years during my younger days and loved it then. The sense of brotherhood on the field, working together as a team, delivering powerful tackles, and making breakthroughs are experiences unlike any other sport could offer me. I’m excited to witness my personal growth as a player and as an individual at the Wasps. Equally, I’m eagerly anticipating the club’s growth and development in the years to come!
